Nitriding steel
Tempering steel for extreme mechanical stress
Nitriding steel belongs to the group of tempering steels and is alloyed with different elements (Cr, Mo, Al). This material is produced by a many production steps and is known for it’s special characteristics:
- very high surface hardness
- very high wear resistance
- temper resistance up to 500°C
- high toughness in it’s core
- corrosion resistance
Nitriding steels are used in all sectors of extremely high mechanical stress, especially engineering for example for trip dogs, bar pressing tools, piston pins, precision measuring devices, etc.
This material can be delivered as round, flat and square bars as well as cuts from sheets and more. As your specialist in steel HSM® supplies you with nitriding steel quickly and flexibly.
