Tempering Steel
Material with high tensile and fatigue strength
Tempering steel got it’s name from the tempering process which leads to a high tensile and fatigue strength. It’s carbon content is approx. 0,2 – 0,6 % and depending on the application different alloy elements (Cr, Mn, Mo, Ni) are added. Tempering steel is especially solid and tough.
This steel is used for engineering and tool making:
- Crankshaft and gear shaft
- Axes
- Bolts
- Screws
- Connecting rods
- and others
