Nickel based alloys
Nickel based alloys – or short nickel alloys – mainly consist of nickel. During smelting processes different alloy elements are added to this material to achieve the following special characteristics:
- Corrosion resistance
- High temperature / low temperature resistance
- Very high tensile strength
- Magnetic characteristics (highly magnetic or completely unmagnetic)
Among nickel alloys, there are also superalloys which are especially suitable for high temperature applications due to their chemical composition. These special materials are especially used in the chemical, aerospace and automotive industry as well as power generation, environmental engineering and waste industry.
