Alloyed tool steel
Hot work steels are alloyed tool steel which are characterized by their especially high resilience. They differ from unalloyed tool steel by their application temperature of 200° - 600°C.
Hot work steels are especially characterized by:
- Structural consistency
- Temper resistance
- Resilience at elevated temperatures
- Tensile strength at elevated temperatures
- Creep strength
- Hot crack susceptibility
- Oxidation resistance
