Case hardening steel
Highly resistant steel for case hardening
Case hardening steels have a carbon content of approx. 0,1 – 0,2 % and are non-alloyed or low-alloyed steels. The carbon content and the alloy elements (Cr, Mn, Ni, Mo) support quenching and forms a hard edge layer which makes the material especially wear resistant and simultaneously tough.
Due to it’s resilience case hardening steel is used for gears, bolts, gear shafts, joints and camshafts in engineering. We are happy to supply you with various delivery forms concerning any application (pipes, special profiles, profile pipes, etc.) according to the norms EN, ASME, ASTM, AISI, UNS,… etc.
