Non-ferrous metals
Looking for suitable suppliers for aluminum, copper, brass, bronze?
HSM® supplies you with non-ferrous metals regardless of delivery form or dimensions. Whether round, square, hexagonal, sheet, tube or other delivery forms – due to our large network, the semi-finished product is available on call.
Our strength in the field of non-ferrous metals lies above all in the unusual.
Aluminium
The smooth, deformable, high-performance material
Aluminium is the third most found material in the earth’s crust and is identified with the symbol Al. The silvery-white light metal is hardly used in its pure form but mostly as an alloyed material with various characteristics and applications. Aluminium is often alloyed with manganese, magnesium, copper, silicon, nickel, zinc and beryllium.
Generally aluminium can be divided in these two most common groups: wrought alloys and cast materials.
The light material aluminium is characterized by the following:
- Low weight
- Low modulus of elasticity
- High mechanical strength
- High temperature conductivity
- Electrical conductivity
- Amagnetic characteristics (e.g. for application of special ship construction or electrical industry)
- Low melting point, app. 600°C
- Easily deformable and machinable
- Low tendency of embrittlement at low temperatures
HSM®’s wide product range also includes aluminium and aluminium alloys – send us your non-binding inquiry.

Bronze
Copper alloy with tin (CuSn)
Bronze is an alloy consisting mainly of copper and tin, although other metals such as aluminium, lead or phosphorus may be added in smaller quantities. The exact proportions of copper and tin vary depending on the intended use and manufacturing process. Bronze has been known for thousands of years and has been used in many cultures to make tools, weapons, artwork and other objects. Bronze is a popular material in metalworking because of its hardness, corrosion resistance and ability to retain fine detail.
A copper-tin alloy, bronze exists as both wrought and cast alloys and contains at least 60% copper and tin. Metallurgically, the term is used with the main alloying addition in front, i.e. aluminium bronze (CuAl), beryllium bronze (CuBe), manganese bronze (CuMn) or machine bronze (CuSnZn).
Bronze is characterized by the following:
- harder than copper
- high tensile strength
- resistant against decomposition
- easily machinable

Copper
Who supplies copper? HSM®
Copper is one of the oldest known metals and has been in use for thousands of years. It is known for its good electrical conductivity. Therefore, it is often used for electrical wires, circuits and electronics. Without copper there would be no electricity, no communication and no technical innovations.
Copper is an important industrial metal and is used in a wide range of applications, including construction, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing and many others. It is an important component of alloys such as bronze and brass. Copper is also used in medicine, agriculture and many other areas.
The procurement market for copper is as diverse as its uses. However, if you are looking for a reliable and fast supplier of copper alloys that are not in stock everywhere, then HSM® is the right place for you. We are your copper supplier when no one else can help.
Send us your inquiry of your semi-finished copper products. We supply you with material regardless of delivery form and dimension. If your semi-finished product is not produced, we will manufacture it. We are you right partner for your special requirements – whether millimetre-seized or extremely big dimensions. HSM® supplies you quickly with the required delivery form and processes the material according to your requirements.

Brass
Copper alloy with zinc (CuZn)
Brass is an alloy consisting mainly of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), sometimes alloyed with small amounts of other metals such as lead, aluminium or nickel. Because of its hardness, corrosion resistance and good machinability, this alloy has been widely used since ancient times.
This copper alloy is characterized by:
- higher mechanical strength than copper
- good electrical conductivity and mechanical stability (e.g. for antenna and waveguides)
- good quality for turning and bending
- higher thermal expansion coefficient
- highly corrosion resistant
- melting point: ca. 900°C
Because of its good conductivity, it is also used in technical applications such as pipelines, fittings, mountings and electrical plugs.

Synthetic materials
Semi-finished products and finished products made from polymers
High-performance material in all kind of forms and dimensions are our passion. This also includes material without any metallic elements, meaning synthetic materials / polymers.
Synthetic materials are more and more used in many industrial sectors due to their low weight combined with a high tensile strength. Furthermore, most of the polymers are highly temperature resistant. Thanks to their high requirements and resilience against external influences, synthetic materials are ideal materials for exceptional requirements – not only in high-technical sectors like the aerospace industry.
Our delivery programme includes not only common standard synthetic materials for simple technical applications but also extremely resistant high-performance polymers with very good mechanical and electrical characteristics.
Just send us your requirements. We‘ll take care of it.
