30 years “a heart of steel”

Despite economic crises and pandemics, the company continues to grow steadily and in July 2023 receives the “Employer of the Future” award from the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalization.
In 1993, the Hofmann family founded HSM® Stahl- und Metall-handel GmbH in Roth, thus laying the foundation for a stock-independent steel trader which, as a system supplier, not only offers
not only high-performance materials, but also a large service portfolio. Founded out of the desire to be able to react faster and more flexibly to the market and customer requirements, HSM® is developing into a specialist in the field of exceptional grades and their processing. As a system provider, HSM® also takes care of upstream and downstream processes, including certificates, testing, shipping, warehousing or customs, if required.
Excellent start into the future
In times of pandemic and climate crisis, it is important for all companies to assume responsibility in order to help shape a future worth living. This applies not only to the environment and sustainability, but also to social issues and corporate culture. In summary, we speak of the ESG criteria: Environment, Social & Governance. The implementation of these criteria is audited by the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalization. In addition, processes and employee organization are examined for their degree of digitization. In addition, data from the brand presence on the Internet, e.g. social media, website, applicant platforms as well as Google ratings from employees, customers and business partners are included in the assessment. HSM® has been the proud owner of the award since June 2023 and is entitled to use the title “Employer of the Future”. In line with this, the company has set itself the goal of becoming CO2-neutral by 2025 as its next milestone.
Anniversary celebrations
The approximately 50 employees celebrated the 30th anniversary already in May in the form of a 5-day company trip to the Salzkammergut, Austria. The program
included bicycle tours, hikes, volleyball, bocce ball and soccer, as well as plenty of time to relax in the thermal spa.
